Vehicle based apprehension and rescue
Presented by Aurora SWAT on October 9th and 10th at
25950 E Quincy Ave, Aurora, CO 80016
Aurora (CO) police officers Dave Krieger, Steve Edwards, Brad Graham and Scott Osgood. All are full time SWAT officers and team leaders, with over 75 years of cumulative experience in SWAT and/or military special operations. They currently serve about 375,000 citizens within 150 square miles.
Participants will be exposed to vehicle based apprehension and rescue tactics and decision making processes as utilized by the Aurora SWAT team. Participants will work in and around vehicles and will conduct driving maneuvers, vehicle immobilizing techniques, vehicle exfiltration, operator positioning, window breaching and occupant control. Aurora SWAT has been using this technique successfully for over 20 years.
Participants will have a basic understanding of why the tactic is successful and how best to integrate it into their own team’s modus operandi if they see fit.
