2 day -VBAR (Vehicle Assault )
March 26th and 27th 2020 @ Douglas County Substation 9250 Zotos Drive (8am to 6pm)
Participants will be exposed to vehicle based apprehension and rescue tactics and decision making processes as utilized by the Aurora SWAT team. Participants will work in and around vehicles and will conduct driving maneuvers, vehicle immobilizing techniques, vehicle ex-filtration, operator positioning, window breaching and occupant control. Aurora SWAT has been using this technique successfully for over 20 years. Participants will have a basic understanding of why the tactic is successful and how best to integrate it into their own team’s modus operandi if they see fit.

Vehicles (vehicles that teams have access to and would actually use)
SWAT kit (whatever is normally worn by each agency conducting vehicle borne enforcement)

- Caveat: vehicle to vehicle contact will occur at very slow speeds. When done properly, no/minimal cosmetic damage may occur. Since this is a training event, damage may occur beyond cosmetic and each agency is responsible for damage sustained to their owned vehicles.

- Plate carrier/vest
- Helmet
- Eye protection
- Gloves
- Rifle (made safe at training site)
- Gun belt
- Red/blue gun if possible
- Utility uniform
- Water/fluids and snacks
